Happy Birthday OCL!

Hey there peeps! Guess what? Our Craft Lounge is celebrating it's FIRST BIRTHDAY this month! Oh yea! Head on over to The Lounge and Forum to celebrate! And make sure you join in on the fun scavenger hunt they are hosting! And what kind of scavenger hunt would it be without PRIZES?!? oooooo....Find out all the deets at THE LOUNGE!

Still here? :) Well then I'll show you a card I made with New Moon on my mind. All the images below are from my OCL set, Forbitten. Did you know that Marianne Walker and myself are the two illustrators for Our Craft Lounge?

I wish you could see it better here but those teeth are all glittered up with OCL crafty sparkles ice crystals and those LIPS are super glossy with ranger glossy accents (you can see the gloss on the heart). It really looks gooooood IRL. The front panel has the words 'eternal' and 'love' from the set stamped in SU sahara sand to make a cool background. And how BEAUTIFUL is this paper? It is Fancy Pants "enchanted" and is easily my favorite dp right now! The hearts were stamped on some Tim Holtz grunge paper, cut out, sponged with ranger worn lipstick and I added some copic R59 for shadow. Throw in some sewing, a ribbon and brads and your done! LOL!

So if you've made it THIS far through my post whaddya doin' here?!?! GO! SHOO! PLAY and WIN! (I'm rootin' for ya!) LOL!

Bippity Boppity (Miss) BOO!

Happy November! Hope everyone had a spooktacular Halloween! We had a great time considering it started pouring rain the minute we started trick or treating with the girls. On the bright side...it was unseasonably warm here...so the rain didn't seem too bad here in the big bad Northeast! ;) Here is a picture of my two cuties...Tinkerbell and Supergirl!

I don't know about you but I feel like today has been a really long day! It must be the time change or something but, regardless, it feels really nice! I had some stamping time today and I absolutely L-O-V-E the card I made for the featured stamper challenge over on SCS! Congrats to Miss Boo!! Miss Boo is known for her "clean and simple" style. Here is my take on her card here.

What a quick, easy, FUN card to make! I stamped the flower from my OCL Thankful Flourishes set twice, colored with copics (R22, R27) and cut one out as a whole and one just the leaves. I glued down the base only of the leaves on top of the solid flower so they can curl up and pop out. Then I grabbed my fabulous I-Top brad maker and, using the reverse side of my MME Abbey Road whirlybird dp that I used as my base, I made myself a medium sized brad that is THE PERFECT size for the center of my flower.

How great is THAT? Ooooo how I love the I-top! I sewed around the background panel with my sewing machine....sponged everything with SU sahara sand...added a PTI berry sorbet ribbon tab...and that is IT. Done. Hope you like it and that you get a chance to play along with the challenge! TFL!

The Deets:
Stamps: OCL Thankful Flourishes
Paper: PTI Vanilla, My Minds Eye Abbey Road dp
Ink: ranger black soot, copics R22, R27, SU sahara sand
Acc: I-Top, PTI berry sorbet ribbon, sponge, sewing machine

It's been a while since I've done THIS

A SKETCH CHALLENGE! Holy SMOKES it's been a long time since I've done any kind of challenge...but I saw the SC252 on Splitcoast today and it spoke to me. LOL....it said 'DEBBIE..use your new MME Boo! To You! dp...itwill be perfect for this challenge" and boy was the voice RIGHT! Such an easy sketch to do and so much fun.

The base of this card is wild wasabi textured paper. The dp used is just part of one sheet of paper. The 'boo' side is the reverse of the image side. I sponged everything in ranger walnut stain and some things with ranger peeled paint too. The set I used is Spooky Nights & the tombstone is Spooktacular . And I found out a neat trick! The swirls in the sky are actually the tree in the Spooky Nights set inked up in ranger peeled paint and then stamped off. It creates a kind of spooky background swirly sky. Pretty cool! The ghost is covered in OCL sugar sparkly fluff and popped up on dimensionals. The tombstone is sponged in walnut stain, peeled paint, and dried marigold. The cat is stamped in walnut stain and then kissed in black soot so it kind of matches the dp brown. I actually paper pieced the cat on top of the stamped cat so the tail could have a 3-D effect. The moon is covered in...you guessed it! RANGER GLOSSY ACCENTS! I told you it was one of my must haves! LOL!

Well that's it for now! Thanks for stopping by!

Fangtastic

Hello! Here is a card I made a few weeks back, for my friend's birthday, but haven't had the time to share. It's using my All-Time FAVORITE set EVER (wow...that is a bold statement isn't it?!) called Forbitten. Oh yea!

My goal was to make a light, whimsical, girlie card...and I think I pulled it off. Let me tell ya, I have so much fun coloring/sparkling/glossing the mouth in this set. For this card I focused on the teeth. To make the teeth sparkle & shine I applied OCL crafty sparkles (I think I used ice crystals here) and then covered them up in Ranger glossy accents. Lately, ranger glossy accents is my "can't live without" item. Funny how that happens isn't it? I've had my bottle of glossy accents sitting on my shelf for well over a year & hardly ever used it. Now, it's on most of my projects. It's my MUST HAVE crafty item of the moment. :p

And isn't this paper FABULOUS?! It is MME Abbey Road paper available at my favorite online store, Eclectic Paperie! I sponged it all with ranger timber brown {ETA: I didn't just say "ranger timber brown did I? OH NO! It is RANGER WALNUT STAIN! I must've had a brain fart or something..LOL!} & sewed with my sewing machine. I made a pocket on the inside (that you can kind of catch a glimpse of in the first photo). I can be pretty messy with glue...so I sewed the pocket on and love the way it turned out.

That's it in a nutshell...and now I'm wondering...what is YOUR "Can't Live Without" Crafty Item of the Moment?

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Ghoulfriend!

Happy Monday folks! Hope you all had a great weekend! Here is a card I actually made a while ago and forgot to upload! D'OH!

The images are from OCL's Spooktacular set. One of the great things about this set is how EASY it is to make background dp! I used the cobweb image and spider for the background panel dp. Fun Fun!!! Eyeliner black sparkly fluff is on the spider in the main image and the band of the cat's hat. The tombstone is stamped twice and popped up on a dimensional and the BOO sentiment is covered in juicy orange sparkly fluff! A REALLY quick and easy card to make. I LOVE using sparkly fluff for that added ZING to an image!

Sorry to be so short...but I've gotta RUN! Hope to be back soon! Have a great day!
